After driving a while Dirk saw signs along road offering a Coffee and banana bread deal at Bamboo Land (!) so we took a short detour. What a surprise! We were happy we stopped as it was a botanic garden of bamboo with many many kinds of towering bamboo plus birds of paradice bushes and various palms. Also wood “sculptures”. Great stop!

Australia makes a great ginger beer (non alcoholic) and the best is Bunderberg. We were driving near the town today so decided to stop at “Bundaberg Keg” where we could sample all the favors and get a 6-pack for the price of admission. It was fun, I found another flavor I like and the town had great place along the river for lunch!

We lucked out with a very nice motel tonight – even had a free laundry! (Kortes Resort)
