We went to a bakery for breakfast then we walked the short but nice Cullendulla trail on other side of the bay before continuing north.

After about another hour of driving we agreed to stop to visit a Maritime Museum in Huskisson on Jervis Bay. There was an exhibit regarding the original settlers (indigenous people) of the area I want to see, and then a discussion of how the bay was continually overused until recently and other interesting topics. The museum was actually started as a way of preserving a streamer that had been built in Huskisson – another great story.

We drove north for a while then stopped at Ulludulla harbor where we chatted with locals and learned how to pronounce Ulladulla. (The “u” is pronounced as ‘uh’). ANd we saw our first salt water pool on the beach – and two more later today!)

We had lunch in Huskisson and went on our way for an hour or so until I remembered I wanted to stop in another town, Kiama, to see the fabulous blowhole! Another beautiful area with more than just a unique blowhole…

We decided to shorten our day by staying in nearby Shellharbour, partially to avoid the larger city of Wollongong. We are in an okay motel near a small mall (which was convenient) and enjoyed the harbor when we headed out to dinner. Earlier I walked to Woolworths – a grocery store here, and got a great long distance photo since it’s on top of a hill. 🙂 Note: Next to the Lakeview (none)n hotel was a drive in liquor store – Dirk thought it was hilarious)
