From Shellharbour we decided to follow a recommendation to go to a small beach town – Pearl Beach. We had been driving a couple of hours on small roads and by the time we arrived it was almost 2pm and all eateries were closed and there was no place nearby for dinner either on Monday either – weird. So we sadly left and went to the next town – Ettalong for quick lunch.

Refreshed, we continued our journey to a town with an unusual name – The Entrance – we we treated ourselves to a ocean view model room and balcony. The beach area below was interesting – large rocks, man made wall and sands. We went to the other side of the pennisula for dinner and later walked along the lake on that side.

February 14 – The Entrance to Forster
We headed out a little earlier than normal fortunately because after driving a few feet Dirk discovered we had a flat tire! Surprise! Fortunately the rental car had all the tools neatly available so we – mostly Dirk – was able to change the tire. A man staying in the hotel helped a bit too and the spare was on within a half hour – a very hot 1/2 hour at around 90 degrees. We then got the name of a local car repair and they fixed the bad tire and remounted while we had coffee and croissants!
Before we left “The Entrance” town we walked along a estuary river, learning that large white jelly fish get washed into the river and drown, but can still sting. We chatted for a while with a man originally from Scotland.

To make up time we used the fast highway and then headed to Foster which is another nice side side town. On the way we walked on the 9 mile Boomerang Beach – interesting dune restoration vegetation.
