Leaving Sydney – January 13

For some reason I couldn’t get Uber to work for our trip to the ship – hope I can get it to work later – taxis are so expensive. Anyway, we got blessed to get onboard (checking for passports, visas, etc multiple times) and found our cabin. It’s a little smaller than expected but with the outside veranda I’m happy!

We are so impressed with Sydney for many reasons. The central city is walkable and lovely, there are electric buses and pedestrian walkways and the buildings are a mix of old and new. Everyone we’ve met or asked for directions have been lovely and the waiters etc seem happy to be here. We were only there for two days and look forward to coming back after our cruise to New Zealand.

Today we went back to the QVB (Queen Victoria Block edifice/mall) for breakfast and later walked across the harbor to the Maritime Museum and nearby park and then lunched along the bay. Then said good bye to the hotel and headed to the Cruise Ship – Holland America’s Noordam.

Our room was pretty nice – we had some credit and incentives and so got a room with a balcony so I can sit outside and read or work on the blog.
